The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph 26331 has been replicated by several factories—B, OM, and IP—but none have perfected it. While I previously recommended OM’s version, their production delays and inconsistencies make them unreliable. Now, APW Factory has stepped in with a vastly improved 26331 replica, fixing many of the flaws found in earlier versions.
Why the AP 26331 Stands Out
Personally, I prefer the 26331 over the 26240—its asymmetrical subdials (different sizes) add more visual appeal compared to the uniform subdials on the 26240. Previous replicas had glaring issues:
- B Factory’s version had misaligned subdials.
- OM’s version had non-functional small hands at 3 and 9 o’clock.
APW’s 26331 fixes both flaws while also improving:
✔ Case thickness (11mm) and diameter (41mm) – Nearly identical to genuine.
✔ Correct subdial positioning – Sunburst finish matches the authentic watch.
✔ Laddered date window – A signature AP detail.
✔ Stable SL4801 movement – Reliable chronograph function.

Room for Improvement
While APW’s 26331 is impressive, two minor flaws remain:
- Brushing on case sides – Could be more pronounced.
- Subdial-to-main-dial transition – Slightly rough upon close inspection.
Still, given its affordable price (lower than most 26240 replicas), this is the best 26331 option available today.
Final Verdict
If you love the Royal Oak Chrono 26331, APW’s version is the closest yet—far surpassing B and OM. While not 100% perfect, it’s the most balanced choice in terms of accuracy, functionality, and price.
